About Anna

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Training Coordinator at The Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the New York Counseling and Guidance Service.

With experience providing short and long-term therapy to a diverse population of clients, I am skilled in crisis support, anger management and counseling around workplace conduct. I have co-developed and led union workshops on conflict resolution and have facilitated psychotherapy groups on depression and anxiety, financial wellness, and self-care for women with health issues. I am also experienced in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy.

A subspecialty of mine is working with performers and professionals in the arts and entertainment as well as individuals in the medical profession and academia. I also work to support parents, particularly those with special needs children and struggling adolescents. I continue to serve as a parent mentor for Evoke Wilderness Therapy program.

My practice is informed by a background in global advocacy and social justice. I hold a master’s degree from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and worked for more than a decade with United Nations affiliates to advance women’s rights and gender equality.  Although rewarding, I eventually discovered that my true passion is to help people achieve greater ease and wellbeing in their lives. I charted a new path, obtaining a master’s degree in social work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.

In addition to my clinical training, I have studied mindfulness meditation with Allan Lokos, founder of the Community Meditation Center in New York City and student of both Thich Nhat Hanh and Sharon Salzberg. I am currently pursuing post-graduate advanced training in addition to seeing clients and supervising clinicians in training.
